On the way to see his estranged wife, Chen-mo stops at a bakery, and comes out to find his car blocked by a double-parked car with a bullet hole in the windshield. The search for the car’s owner turns into an endless night of surreal encounters as he gets directed from one person to another: a one-armed barber, a prostitute from China, a Hong Kong tailor, eccentric gangsters. Starring Chang Chen and Kwai Lun-mei, this sharply lensed noir-inspired black comedy marks director Chung Mong-hong as a name to watch.
