Happiness revolves around the lives of three sisters: Joy, permanently unlucky in love; Helen, a successful poet whose next door neighbor is obsessed with her and phones to explain this in graphic detail; and Trish, who has
it all, a big house, a couple of kids and a successful psychiatrist husband who conceals his uncontrollable urges. The characters'
lives intertwine in their searches for happiness, but what they find are only loneliness, obsession and some serious psychological problems.
Todd Solondz shows a slice of American life that isn't normally dealt with in this brutally honesty film that is fueled with dark humor
of human weakness, meanness and even pathology.

Based
on his own experiences, Tassos Boulmetic structured
the film into courses of a gourmet
meal. Greek boy Fanis grew up in Costantinoupolis
with his grandfather, a culinary expert
who teaches him that both food and life require
a touch of spice to give them flavor. However,
Fanis was later sent out of the country
due
to conflicts between Turkey and Greece.
Thirty-five years later, he goes back to
his second home
Istanbul to reunite with his grandfather
and his first love. The record-breaking

The

To convince her deaf son Frankie that his father didn't abandon the family, Lizzie keeps
writing the boy make-believe letters as his sailor father, telling him about adventures
in exotic lands. As Frankie tracks the ship's progress around the globe, he discovers
that his "father's ship" is going to dock in his hometown. Lizzie has to find a temporary
father to play the role for a day... As both cinematographer and director, Shona
Auerbach captures the true beauty of the Scottish seaside town but only makes it
a subtle element of the film with a well-written story and characters
that touch each of us in a personal manner.
