She draws from her own experience to write and direct this poignant drama about how a family changes after the death of the father. The psychology and dynamics of the household become tense and unstable as members struggle to cope with the grief and adjust to new roles. The oldest daughter is pushed by her needy mother to shoulder the household. The teenage son goes awry trying to take charge while the youngest daughter feels increasingly alienated from the family. |
