The year is 1998. As China is swept up in World Cup fever and on the cusp of great change, three men from three different generations in a small southern town face decisions that will change their lives forever. Fifth-grader Xiaoyang wants to rebel against his controlling father and somehow finds an unlikely ally in his neighbor, Grandpa Zheng.
