女導演崔永徽心繫臨太平洋的海洋部落，籌備六年拍攝完成一部屬於蘭嶼的電影，由原住民達悟族傾力支援演出。改編自蘭嶼「小飛魚文化展演隊」的真實故事，達悟族男孩自小由祖母照顧，父親為了生計離鄉到高雄工作。某夏，學校被邀代表蘭嶼參加原住民舞蹈大賽，老師一心望爭獎成功，能早日調回台灣;男孩則希望能藉此飛到台灣，請爸爸來看他跳舞。但在集訓過程中，孩子們由不願穿著代表達悟文化的丁字褲上台表演，到最後願意為自己和族人而跳，令勇士舞和甩髮舞得以傳承。風在，海在，爸爸卻不在，令人反思偏鄉教育所承受的衝擊，反映日趨嚴重的隔代教養問題。達悟族童星鍾家駿單純的演出，自然又討喜。

Writer-director Tsui Yung-hui makes her feature debut with this picturesque tale set on beautiful Orchid Island, located off the coast of Taiwan. Featuring a cast of local aboriginal actors, the film follows Ma Na Wei, a young boy who lives a simple life with his grandmother. Ma’s only ambition is to see his father, who’s away working in Taiwan. Meanwhile, ambivalent schoolteacher Yu is inspired to choreograph a performance for the annual Aboriginal Dance Competition. But getting Ma and the local children to perform to their potential requires them to reconnect with their culture and identity. Can Yu and the children find the courage to perform and be true to themselves?
