Can a couple that’s out of love continue to live under the same roof? That’s the big question that director Matsumura Shingo tackles in this delightful anti-romantic comedy. Rinko and Isamu ended their three-year relationship six months ago, but they continue to live in the same apartment because neither can afford to move out. When Isamu becomes interested in another girl, Rinko must confront her lingering feelings head-on. Drawing the story loosely from his own real-life experiences, Matsumura takes a sitcom-esque setup and weaves a gentle and intelligent film filled with witty dialogue and flawed, but relatable characters.
