康城常客、日本藝術片名導河瀨直美過往多拍原著劇本，這次罕有改編多利安助川的同名小說。繼去年的《第二扇窗》(第11屆)，河瀨直美貫徹對社會邊緣人物的關注，還首次在東京拍攝，有別於過往作品大都發生在奈良縣。故事講述樹木希林飾演的老婦一天來到一家銅鑼燒店，請求永瀨正敏飾演的燒餅師父讓她做餅，原來她是燒餅高手，她的銅鑼燒吸引熟客和慕名而來的顧客，包括內田伽羅飾演的內歛少女。本來陌生的三個人合力賣餅，儼如三代同堂的一家人。可惜當顧客得知老婦其實是附近痳瘋病院的病人，紛紛避之則吉，不敢光顧。最終燒餅店還容得下老婦嗎?
