Born in 1978, Vincent Macaigne is an actor, writer and director. Son of a French businessman and an Iranian-born painter, he grew up in Paris with speaking French and Farsi. He graduated from the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique de Paris (CNSAD) in 2002. In 2013, he appeared in 5 films: The Rendez-vous of Déjà-vu, Age of Panic, 2 Autumns 3 Winters, Tonnerre and Tristesse Club. Considered by critics to be the new Gérard Depardieu, Vincent Macaigne is also a stage director and actor. In 2011, in Avignon Festival, he directed an adaptation of Hamlet by William Shakespeare. In 2014, he performs again his adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s novel The Idiot created in 2009.
