Is youthful love a “violent poison” or the pleasure of freedom? Anna (Clara Augarde), a beautiful 14-yearold, comes home from her Catholic boarding school for the Easter break and discovers her father Paul (Thierry Neuvic) has left her mother Jeanne (Lio). The faithful Jeanne clings to the counsel of Father Francois (Stefano Cassetti). Anna grows close to her grandfather Jean (the 92-year-old comic actor Michel Galabru), who is a bon vivant facing imminent death. She also wants to get closer to her boyfriend Pierre. Katell Quillévéré’s first feature Love Like Poison is a
poetic coming-of-age movie caught between Catholic faith and blossoming sexuality, whose title comes from Serge Gainsbourg’s song. The audience shouldn't miss the cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” by the angelic voice of the Belgian women’s choir Scala & Kolacny Brothers.
