Synopsis

Marko lives in Berlin with his wife and daughter – far enough away from his parents Gitte and Guenther. In a family gathering, Gitte, who has been mentally unstable since Marko's childhood, announces that she stops taking medication. Guenther feels her decision is threatening his retirement plan of taking a long study trip. Marko's younger brother Jakob objects to the idea, expressing frustration at his elder brother for being away. Marko is the only one supporting his mother. Director Schmid tactfully handles the tension and destructive power of the repressed emotions of the family members, revealing the decisions they made for selfish motives or as coping strategies which make up to maintain the fragile balance of the family.

故事簡介

中產唔易做，愁買樓又愁子女教育，還要照顧年邁雙親。Marko大學畢業後離開父母，結婚生子兼且職業穩定。長年仰藥的母親突然停服抗抑鬱藥，不料掀起家庭成員間的暗湧。臨近退休的父親本想獨自到外地考察完成心願；弟弟原來足襟見肘卻一直隱瞞，埋怨兄長從未分擔照顧雙親的責任，年老、疾病、責任的陰雲籠罩着中產家庭。一向被動的母親為自己作出選擇，隨時打破一家人表面安逸、相安無事的假象。
