Synopsis

Based on Paco Roca´s comic of the same title, WRINKLES is an animation about aging which portrays the friendship between two aged gentlemen shut away in a care home. Increasingly lost in his own memories, Emilio is a retired bank manager who is in the early stages of Alzheimer. His roommate, the unmarried and childless Miguel is a witty and sometimes mischievous character, uncompromising to the destiny of ending life in a boring routine of "sleeping, eating and shitting". Slowly, friendship is turned into comradeship. The stark landscape of aging in the care house is transformed into one of magic surrealism of adventures, calculated resistance and unexpected comedy – one that is shared with a fantastical cast of fellow life-travelers on their last great journey.

當荷里活的動畫電影不斷追求3D技術突破，本片給觀眾示範了主流動畫也可以寫實和表達人文關懷。改編自2008年得獎的西班牙漫畫，電影探討被社會遺忘的老人問題。退休銀行經理Emilio患上早期老人癡呆症，被送去老人院。同室院友 Miguel膝下無兒，是個多口又多手的問題院友，為證明餘生不只吃喝拉睡，常有出位行為。正當Emilio病情開始惡化，害怕失去記憶和自理能力，一班花甲院友團結一致，誓 他對抗宿命。
