MACHINE GIRL and ROBOGEISHA director Noboru Iguchi leaves behind the blood and guts of his previous films for this marvelously campy adaptation of the 1973 animated series. When his scientist father is killed by the evil Sigma organization, policeman Yutaka teams up with Zabogar, a karate-fighting robot that can transform into a motorcycle, to take revenge. However, his partnership with Zabogar is derailed by his romantic entanglement. After paying tribute to the light 1970s spirit of the original show, Noboru invents a brand-new chapter that takes place 25 years later, introducing a new robot hero to go up against Sigma. |
