A beautiful and heartwarming film that studies the world of gleaners. Agnes Varda focuses her eye on these people who pick up left-over discarded items and food. Her thoughts on her life as a filmmaker (a gleaner of sorts) gives her a connection to her subjects that creates a gentle and touching human portrait. A self-reflective documentary of Varda about giving new purposes to the discarded, a new life to the neglected.
