Director Roy Chow Hin-Yeung brings Cantonese folk hero Wong Fei- Hong back to the big screen in Rise of the Legend, an action-packed historical drama that takes place before Wong Fei-Hong’s ascent into Chinese folklore. Eddie Peng plays Wong Fei-Hong as a young and impetuous man, as he infiltrates a criminal gang reputed to be smuggling Chinese overseas. Supporting Peng is a spectacular cast, including Jing Boran, Wang Luodan, Angelababy, Tony Leung Ka-Fai and Sammo Hung, with Zhang Jin (The Grandmaster) as a key antagonist and Corey Yuen Kwai (Red Cliff) handling action choreography. Known for the intense suspense and emotion of Murderer and Nightfall, Roy Chow seeks to conquer a new genre with this thrilling and epic actiondrama.
