2008年HKAFF焦點導演魯里比茲舍蘭繼康城金棕櫚獎《冬日甦醒》(第11屆)後，睽違四年終於帶來新作。《野梨樹》描述在探討父子間難以割捨的連結，劇情描述一名才華橫溢的作家，為了新書出版返鄉籌錢，不料在家鄉等著他的，竟是父親遺留下來的大筆債務。他只得暫時放下人生規劃，卻在努力償還債務之時，發現更多父親不為人知的秘密。本片遠赴土耳其西部、鄰近希臘的恰納卡萊地區取景拍攝，劇本千錘百煉，演員與角色融為一體，畫面仍是舍蘭式的格優雅詩意，人性刻劃入木三分。
