Le Lotus bleu is adapted from the Belgian comic artist Hergé’s 1936 serialized strip The Adventures of Tintin: The Blue Lotus, following the anti-drug adventure of Les Cigares du Pharaon. A messenger from China visits Tintin in the court of the Indian prince whom Tintin has saved in the previous adventure. Attacked by the madness-inducing poisonous arrow, the messenger utters only “Mitsuhirato” and “Shanghai” before going crazy. Thus, Tintin and his little white dog Milou come to the International Settlement of Shanghai. Tintin is discreetly protected by a secret society “The Sons of the Dragon” that is battling against opium trafficking and is led by Mr. Wang. Mr. Wang’s son Didi, however, has gone crazy in the course of protecting Tintin. Didi begins quoting Lao-tzu: “One must find the way!” and attempts to decapitate others to help them achieve it. Against the backdrop of the Japanese invasion of China, Tintin needs to find the antidote to Didi’s madness and assist the funny identical twin policemen in combating the drug cartel. 改編自比利時國寶級漫畫家Hergé 1936年的同名作品，故事接續《法老的雪茄》對抗跨國運毒集團的冒險。一位中國使者來到印度小王子的皇宮拜訪丁丁，受天外飛來一支毒箭攻擊，發瘋前只說出「平野松成」與「上海」兩詞，於是丁丁與小白狗米魯來到上海租界。丁丁受到反鴉片祕密會社「龍之子」的暗中保護，社長王先生的兒子卻中毒箭發瘋，滿口老子，提刀砍頭。在日本侵華戰爭的背景下，丁丁要幫忙找到解藥，還要協助逗趣的雙胞胎警探破獲鴉片集團。(同場加映: 法老的雪茄)
