Thérèse Desqueyroux
弒夫告白
Synopsis
-
Adapted from Nobel Prize-winner François Mauriac (1885-1970)’s best-known novel Thérèse Desqueyroux (1927), the late Claude Miller’s swansong film Thérèse Desqueyroux (2012) closed last year’s Festival de Cannes. Imprisoned in a loveless marriage with her husband Bernard (Gilles Lellouche) and tied tragically to the pine forests in 1920s southwest France, Thérèse (Audrey Tautou) thirsts for love, freedom, and an escape to the Bohemian jazz-age Paris.
