Synopsis
Life Feels Good is inspired by the true story of an intelligent and spirited young man who was born with cerebral palsy that renders him incapable of communicating himself in a way that is comprehensible to “normal” people. Unjustly deemed as a mentally retard since childhood, Mateusz has spent many years finding his place in this world where he struggles to prove himself to be just as intellectually and emotionally “normal” as anyone else. We learn about his colorful childhood growing up in a loving family who fires his curiosity and imagination. We also get to meet the love of his life, Anka, to whom he forms a strong emotional connection that is not unlike any other love-struck teenager. When circumstances have him institutionalized at a clinic for the mentally disabled, he knows it is his last chance to fight hard for his dignity and sanity. Despite the heavy subject matter, this life-affirming film is surprisingly uplifting, full of insightful humors and warmth that is devoid of sappy sentimentality.
