Streets Loud With Echoes(EADF2025)
A young Olympic champion has been murdered in the largest city in Kazakhstan. His absurd death – the result of police corruption–creates an unprecedented union among the city’s intellectual elite. As this event unfolds, the filmmaker follows the new movement with the camera in her hands to find out whether society is capable of responding to the pain that has united it. Within this emerging civil movement, she encounters two young participants – an empathic, courageous journalist and a strong-willed political scientist. Watching them, she observes how society is learning to raise its voice, despite decades of fear and humility.
