“A portrait of Fan Qihui; Fan Qihui on the altar.”
A white rose in her hair, eight-inch heels, and a heavenly dress... By day he was the loquacious tailor Fan Qihui; by night she was the enchanting Madame Bilan de Linphel, tears of mascara flowing down from the corners of her eyes as she crooned in the dimly lit bar. Qiu Jiongjiong saw his performance for the first time in 2008, and gradually, the two became friends. From the friendship grew the deep desire to document Fan. Qiu presents Fan's honest monologues juxtaposed with his nightime performances; what would have been a portrait becomes an elegy.
