Selected Shorts from GHFA & Kaohisung (2)(16th Fresh Wave)
Day After (Realism) is about a taxi driver who needs money to repair his broken-down taxi, and his attempts to seek assistance from his wife and son switch between dark comedy and drama. Film Dreams about Her Childhood is a homage to the forgotten history of Taiwanese cinema, and a contemplation on the nature of cinema. Swallow is a commentary on gender stereotype as well as the toxic pursuit of a certain standard of feminine beauty. March: the Southern South reconstructs a little known event in Kaohsiung during the February 28 incident. Islander is a cautionary tale referred to White Terror and written out of imagination for the future and the resolution to never forget.
