Synopsis

Set over the course of one eventful day, No.2 is a contemporary, big-hearted and exuberant story about what it takes to bring a family together.

The heart has gone out of Nanna Maria’s (played by Academy Award winner Ruby Dee) family. There are no parties – they don’t even fight anymore. Inspired by a dream of her childhood back in Fiji, Nanna demands that her grandchildren put on a big feast at which she will name her successor. The grandchildren reluctantly turn up, but as the day progresses their preparations unravel into chaos and an outraged Nanna calls the whole thing off. That’s when everyone realizes they have to pull out all the stops and give the crazy old lady what she wants, and what they all need. Infused with the heat and vibrancy of the South Pacific, No.2 is a big-hearted, exuberant story about what it takes to bring family together.

About the Film and the Director

For his first feature film No.2, Toa Fraser has written and directed a screen adaptation of his internationally acclaimed, award-winning stage play of the same name.

Fraser teams up with AFI award-winning Producer Tim White (Two Hands, Oscar & Lucinda), Lydia Livingstone and Philippa Campbell (Rain).

故事簡介

影片圍繞一天之內發生的事情，一個清新貼心、生氣蓬勃的故事，說出何謂一家人。

祖母瑪利亞（奧斯卡得主露比．狄飾演）心緒不寧，因為屋裡再沒有派對，兒孫們甚至懶得吵架。瑪利亞想起了童年的夢；想起兒時的斐濟島，於是下令孫仔孫女搞盛大派對，她將會宣佈誰是繼承人。大家不敢抗命，卻不情不願，事情弄得一團糟，瑪利亞十分生氣，取消了派對。這時候，大家才知道甚麼對這個家是最重要的。

闔府統請的歡樂派對，在熱情洋溢的南太平洋海岸，曼舞輕歌，此時此刻，還有甚麼恩恩怨怨好計較呢？一家人嘛！

《嫲嫲煩煩大派對》是度雅．霍沙的首部自編自導劇情長片，改編自他享譽國際的同名舞台劇作，夥同三位金牌製片：美國電影學會得獎者添．偉池(Two  Hands 、 Oscar & Lucinda)、蓮蒂亞．李榮史東及菲利芭．金寶(《少女情懷雨絲絲》)；其餘幕後功臣，都是新西蘭電影業的頭號人物，包括攝影師李昂．那彼(《馭鯨少女》、Perfect Creature)、製作設計師費．艾維(Perfect Creature)、服裝師姬絲蒂．金馬倫(《馭鯨少女》、Perfect Creature)、剪接師基斯．般馬(《禁室原罪》)及作曲家當．麥蓋山(《天使與我同桌》)。
