Synopsis

When Melanie goes home from the pub with a handsome stranger, she’s captivated by his charm and attentiveness.

He sails her away to his ‘castle’ - a rundown shack on a deserted island. But when seduction becomes deception and passion becomes possession, Melanie realizes that she has been kidnapped.

Torn between fear and desire, Melanie must escape – but her ardent admirer has other plans.

About the Film and the Director

Gaylene Preston has been celebrated as one of New Zealand’s leading filmmakers, having made some of the most enduring popular classics of New Zealand cinema.

Her feature films, Mr Wrong, Ruby and Rata, and the mini series Bread & Roses (with producer Robin Laing) have garnered multiple awards in New Zealand and abroad and become New Zealand classics.

Perfect Strangers is a darkly humorous, perverse tale about the overriding human need to love and be loved.

This is Kiwi actor Sam Neill’s first New Zealand feature since The Piano in 1993.

故事簡介

美蓮在酒吧邂逅陌生俊男，被他的魅力和充滿關注的眼神深深吸引，不知不覺間帶著他回家，豈料……

導演與製作

姬蓮．珮斯頓在新西蘭電影界享有重要的領導地位，執導過好幾部新西蘭家傳戶曉的經典作品。包括在國內外屢獲殊榮的劇情片《Mr Wrong, Ruby and Rata》及短片系列《Bread & Roses》（羅賓．賴恩擔任製片）。

《完美陌生人》以黑色的幽默感、謊誕歪張的故事，剖開貪得無饜地愛與被愛的心。

本片是著名新西蘭影星森．尼爾自《鋼琴別戀》（1993年）以來首次再主演新西蘭電影之作。
