Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman
Adapted from Haruki Murakami’s short stories, composer Pierre Földes’ directorial debut is a work filled with fantasies and magical realism. In a surreal cross pollination of multiple narratives akin to the Murakami style, the film blends a surreal tale.

When Mr. Katagiri meets a giant talkative frog who needs his help to save Tokyo from a giant worm attack, a series of events turns a simple bank employee’s life into complete chaos. Meanwhile, Katagiri’s colleague faces a series of misfortunes: his job is threatened, his wife is leaving, and his cat is missing. When he attends a hospital appointment with his niece, he recalls a story of the blind willow and a sleeping woman, told by the woman who later becomes his wife.
