Parents' Day tells five different stories that cleverly reflect on the social structure, family relationship and education system in contemporary Japan. The Youngest Daughter depicts that, Natsumi, One day, tired of the family situation, Natsumi runs away and finds refuge in her loving grandmother in the countryside. In Far, Far Away, Sara whose mother died when she was 15, meets an older woman, TAKEUCHI. Learning that TAKEUCHI’s daughter died at a young age, Sara seems to see some fateful significance in this eerie coincidence and comes up with a bold proposal.
