ROIT shines a spotlight on Australia’s 1970s Gay Rights Movement and tells the story of the courage behind Australia’s first Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. In 1978, when the push to decriminalize homosexuality has stalled, a group of passionate activists, led by Lance Gowland, join hands together and parade down Oxford street in fancy dresses. Unware of the angry police lie in wait, they will soon find out history is about to be rewritten.
