Synopsis

This documentary focuses on Northland’s most rock ‘n’ roll event, the Kaikohe Demolition Derby, which takes place in small town Kaikohe.

Told by the people involved, Kaikohe Demolition exposes the innocence and artistic beauty of a violent spectator sport.

About the Film and the Director

Kaikohe Demolition provides an intimate portrayal of the Kaikohe Car Club’s ‘Soul Surviving’ Demolition Derby, with a focus on the stories of three middle-aged men in the impoverished Northland community with a large Mäori population. The charm of the documentary is all in its leads – the locals. The best screenwriter could not have scripted the dialogue they improvised.

The documentary features original music by Marc Chesterman and Ben Maitland, with additional music by legendary New Zealand blues rock band Human Instinct, The Box Car guitars, Lush Burger, Ben Tawhiti and Push Push.

Florian Habicht is an innovative independent digital video/film maker. His films combine a unique sense of humour and odd-ball narratives with seductive and lush imagery.

本片記錄了北島最富動感的盛事－在小鎮介戈爾舉行的「介戈爾撞車打比競賽」。

參賽者逐一接受訪問，各自流露對這種粗獷性運動的純真與滿腔熱血。

導演與製作

《介戈爾飆移日誌》以溫柔的目光注視介戈爾車會「浩氣長存」的撞車競賽，焦點在三個中年男人，背景是毛利族人口較多且較貧乏的北島。影片的魅力在於它的主角們－介戈爾的居民，即使最好的編劇人也沒法寫出他們那些精采的即興對話。

影片的原創音樂是馬克．卓斯特文及斌．邁特蘭的傑作，其他配樂來自著名新西蘭搖滾爵士樂隊：Human Instinct、The Box Car guitars、Lush Burger、Ben Tawhiti及Push Push。

導演科利仁．哈別茲是前衛獨立錄像／電影工作者，作品揉合獨特的幽默感及奇異的敍事手法，影像娜娜多姿讓人目眩。
