時隔三年，《你家就是我家》導演深田晃司與女星製片杉野希妃重返熒屏之作，以細膩的筆觸譜寫出動人的18歲夏物語。少女朔子為了準備大學入學考試，與阿姨來到海邊的小鎮溫習，邂逅來自福島的難民隆史，過渡到成年譜出浪漫愛情物語，相戀的日子儘管短暫，卻成為了她一生難忘的記憶。全片彌漫著伊力盧馬的輕鬆舒暢，流露著樹蔭下那柔光與涼風的氛圍。初戀總是令人難以忘懷，那年騷動的夏天，寧靜的湖畔，二階堂富美和朔子都長大了。

Following the also-French-titled Hospitalité, Fukada Koji’s Au Revoir l’eté offers an understated and quietly resonant tale of a languid summer spent along the coast, with old affairs revisited and new affections observed. Translated as “Farewell to Summer”, the title refers to Mikie’s (Tsuruta Maya) summer holiday, as she returns to her coastal hometown along with her in-bloom niece Sakuko (Nikaido Fumi). Mikie renews ties with two former flames, love hotel manager Ukichi (Furutachi Kanji) and academic Nishida (Otake Tadashi), and tangled intrigue ensues. Meanwhile, Sakuko pursues high-school dropout Takashi (Taiga), whose socially awkward manner and absent family are connected to his experience as a survivor of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
