An “It’s Me” phone scam involves a con artist calling a stranger pretending to be someone familiar. When the victim is hooked, the criminal convinces the victim to transfer him a large sum of money. When electronic store clerk Hitoshi (Kamenashi Kazuya) picks up a stranger’s cell phone by coincidence, he uses it to commit an “It’s Me” scam on the stranger’s mother. Suddenly, Hitoshi’s clones – each with a different personality – start popping up everywhere. The Hitoshis get along swimmingly until one clone begins harboring more sinister thoughts. Produced by one of Japan’s biggest idol agencies, director Miki Satoshi’s existential comedy is a surreal ride that gets increasing weirder along the way until its over-the-top finale.
