Japanese kabuki theater star Ichikawa Ebizo reunites with his Harakiri director Miike Takashi for this eerie life-imitates-art horror drama. Also credited with the film’s concept, Ebizo plays Kousuke, an up-andcoming actor who’s landed the starring role in a stage adaptation of Yotsuya Kaidan, one of Japan’s most famous ghost stories. As preparations for the play get underway, Kousuke’s relationship with his co-star girlfriend Miyuki (Shibasaki Kou) takes a turn for the worse as elements from the play and real life begin to merge, blurring the line between dream and reality. An imaginative update of a classic tale, Over Your Dead Body is a terrifying tale of betrayal and revenge that only Miike can deliver!
