五彩神箭，意指尖扎藏族古老射箭文化中的神射手。生於射箭世家的紮東再敗給鄰村的神射手尼瑪，懷恨在心的他反對尼瑪與自己妹妹在 一起，二人在青海地區政府舉辦射箭大賽中碰頭，一決高下。故事宛 如羅密歐與茱麗葉的藏族版，年輕一代為愛為榮辱比試箭藝，老一輩卻怕傳統失傳而擔憂。世世代代流傳下來的技藝走進現代社會，古老文明也隨著族人的發展潛移默化地發生變化，萬馬才旦以藝高膽大的方式拍下藏族人是如何生存。榮獲上海電影節金爵獎最佳攝影獎。

Two villages compete in an archery competition for the Sacred Arrow, a traditional totem representing strength, bravery, peace and joy. Dradon of Lhalong village loses to Nyima of Damo village, but insult becomes injury when Dradon finds Nyima in a budding romance with his younger sister Dekyid. While a second archery contest – held by the children of the two villages – is organized to reclaim the honor of Lhalong village, Dradon takes it upon himself to challenge Nyima once more. Using a more traditional narrative and characters than his previous docudrama-styled films, Pema Desden offers a rich examination of traditional Tibetan culture and its place in presentday Tibet.
