Last year's Director in Focus returns to the HKAFF with a grisly psycho-thriller inspired by true events. Tropical fish seller Shamoto (Mitsuru Fukikoshi) thought he had finally found a friend, but he realizes too late that fellow shop owner Murata (Denden) is a cold-blooded serial killer. With his daughter in Murata's hands, Shamoto becomes an unwilling accomplice to unspeakable crimes that drive him over the edge. Cult maverick Sion Sono takes audiences to dark and violent places in this mind-blowing portrait of madness and murder.
