| Four people have arrived at
a lake in order to pray for the souls of their loved ones,
who perpetrated the terror attack of a cult, then committed
mass suicide. A surviving cult member has returned for
the first time since the attack, too. With the approach
of darkness, they decide to spend the evening at the isolated
cabin. In the night, emotional distance of their loved
ones leading to a compassionate journey of loss, grief,
and healing. Hirokazu Koreeda's specially dedicated this
work for the relatives of victims in the sarin incident
committed by Aum in 1995. |
