In 2009, director Gareth Evans and martial artist-turned-actor Iko Uwais unleashed the traditional Indonedian martial arts style of Pencak silat to audiences worldwide with MERANTAU. They now reunite in THE RAID, an intense actioner about a SWAT team's attempt to quietly extract a powerful drug lord in an apartment block filled with dangerous criminals. However, the team's cover is blown, turning their mission into a struggle to make it out alive. Taking place entirely inside the apartment building, THE RAID gives literal meaning to the phrase "wall-to-wall action." |
