Golden Horse Best Actress Qin Hai-lu and Korean actress Jang Shin-yeong star in LUCKY DOG writer-director Zhang Meng's crowd-pleasing comedy centering on a steel mill worker (Wang Qian-yuan) who is laid off from his job and divorced by his wife. In an attempt to win the custody of his daughter, the hapless and penniless father promises to give her a piano - by building one from scratch! With its heartwarming humor and touching characterization, the script moved MY SASSY GIRL director Kwak Jae-young so much he agreed to produce the film, which has left many audiences in stitches and in tears - often at the same time.
