Between Two Worlds
05年斯里蘭卡導演維穆卡提‧加亞桑德拉的《眾神遺忘之地》在康城獲獎，五年後新作《超時空戰紀》角逐威尼斯，讓亞洲島國的電影再受世人注目。男子拉吉思從家鄉逃難出走至親戚家，夜間卻被神秘森林迷惑。傳說中有一位被因預言所害的王子躲至森林保命，皇叔惱羞成怒，全村男子除去一個不留。終究應驗了的歷史，是不幸還是命運，敬畏大自然和神話傳說可能是陳腔濫調，但套用於內戰戰火連連的斯里蘭卡，未嘗不是一闕永恆的警世之言。
Sri Lankan director Vimukthi Jayasundara follows his award-winning debut THE FORSAKEN LAND with another compelling fable about life in his war-torn country. A young man falls from the sky into the sea. Washing ashore, he encounters a city beset with terrifying riots, and takes refuge in the even more dangerous countryside. Jayasundara eschews traditional narrative for allegorical episodes rich in imagery and lyrical symbolism that are both puzzling and powerful.
