A blind girl tours Bangkok under the guidance of an angel. Two mixednationality expats attempt to communicate with local girls and meet with mixed results. A country boy strolls through the city at night with a prostitute. A drunken party girl gets rescued on the road by a homeless man. Unlike other city-themed omnibuses of recent years, all four directors of SAWASDEE BANGKOK are local – Pen-ek Ratanaruang, Wisit Sasanatieng, Aditya Assarat and Kongdej Jaturanrasamee – and their stories scratch beyond the surface to reveal less than rosy yet oddly magical visions of life in Thailand's capital.
