Before returning from television to work on the violent pink film genre for Nikkatsu in the 1970s, director Yasuharu Hasebe directed edgy yakuza films like this 1967 film, a violent actioner that oozes cinematic style. Joe Shishido (BRANDED TO KILL) stars as a gangster who fights a gang war with his yakuza brothers by his side after he falls in love with his boss' wife. Hasebe offers an over-the-top climax that undoubtedly lives up to the film's Japanese title – "The Pistol That Kills Everyone." |
