關於「偷窺」的電影，沒有哪一齣比《情誡》更令人回味再三。青年郵務員多米克，喜歡用望遠鏡窺看住在對面大廈的中年女畫家瑪格達，並深信自己已愛上她。她在家裡發呆、痛哭、和不同男人做愛，他都一一看在眼裡。多米克痛心極了，於是用盡辦法介入她的生活，並妄想以純真的愛打動她，讓她走出憂傷深谷。然而早已對愛情死心的瑪格達，卻直斥這傻小子幼稚可笑，直至......奇斯洛夫斯基早期經典力作，改編自《十誡之第六誡》，沉鬱內歛的風格已見雛型，男女主角演出恰到好處，加上如詩般優美的主觀敘事鏡頭，豈能錯過？此電影長版的結局比電視版故事性較強，亦有較多想像空間。
No other film on voyeurism can be more subtle than this one. Young Tomek, who works in the post office, uses a stolen telescope to peek at Magda, a mature woman painter living in the opposite tower block. He thinks he is desperately in love with her, in the purest sense. When he sees Magda sobs and sleeps with all sorts of men, he intends to save her from this mess with his true love. But Magda was once hurt and doesn't trust in the miracle of love anymore. To her, love is just making love. She mocks at Tomek's naivety and asks him to feel the lust of her body. Insulted, Tomek attempts suicide... This is one of Kieslowski's early masterpieces and an extended film version of Decalogue 6. His reticent yet evocative style is already evident. The leading actors make a good pair, and the subjective POV shots of Tomek and Magda are beautifully filmed. This theatrical version is much more open ended than the TV version.
