第五誡：法律禁止殺人，但法庭卻是合法的殺人機器，到底誰來決定殺人是否恰當？一名苦悶少年殺死了的士司機，被宣判死刑，應該毫不足惜，但為他辯護的見習律師，卻漸漸對法律的權威性產生懷疑...... 突出的影像，成功營造出夢魘般的殺人犯
世界。

第六誡：慾望橫流，是現代城市的特徵，誰仍理會「不可姦淫」的規條？但此誡以一個偷窺的故事，道出人們心底裡最強烈的欲望：尋找真愛。

此兩誡皆有較長的電影版本，原因是當年礙於資金關係，必須為其中兩誡多拍攝一個在電影院上映的版本。奇斯洛夫斯基同時拍攝電影和電視版，剪接時將兩組鏡頭交替使用，令這兩集特別豐富、細緻。
Decalogue 5: The law prohibits killing, but the court also commits murder. Who should decide which act of killing is appropriate or not? A bored young boy kills a taxi-driver and is condemned to death by the court. It seems that he deserves what he gets, but the young lawyer who is his counsel starts losing faith on the authority of law...

Decalogue 6: Sex has become so prevalent in modern society that no one seems to care about the sixth commandment: "Thou shalt not commit adultery" anymore. However, through a story about voyeur, Kieslowski depicts the biggest desire of us all: the search for love.

Both episodes, for financial reasons, had to be released theatrically. Kieslowski filmed separate versions for each, but in the cutting room the footage was inevitably mixed. The result is that these two episodes are much richer and more detailed than others in the series.
